The Next International Indigenous Youth Conference 2005
“Indigenous youth inherit the responsibility to protect and preserve their traditional lands, resources and sacred sites upon which their cultural heritage and identity is based. “

The second International Indigenous Youth Conference will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, on June 17-24, 2005. The conference will take place within Indigenous territories on the coast and the interior of BC.

The goals set at the first conference will be furthered by addressing the theme of, “Strengthining solidarity among Indigneous youth in asserting Indigenous people’s rights amidst globalization”, at the second International Indigneous Youth Conference in 2005.

The conference is being organized by the IIYC secretariat in Vancouver, BC. The IIYC secretariat includes representatives from the following organizations; The Native Youth Movement, Redwire Native Youth Media Society and Ugnayan ng Kabataang Pilipino sa Canada (The Filipino-Canadian Youth Alliance)

The conference is endorsed by the following organizations; Assembly of First Nations, Indigenous Environmental Network, Knowledgeable Aboriginal Youth Advocates, International Institute on Child Rights and Development, International League of People’s Struggle, Cordillera People’s Alliance Youth Commission, St’at’imc Nation, International Network on Economies and Trade, Union of BC Indian Chiefs

Integrations will be held at the Sutikalh camp in St'at'imc territory.
