Towards Our Liberation: An International Women's Conference Against Imperialist War and Plunder
Convened by Grassroots Women and GABRIELA-Philippines Under the Auspices of the International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS)

November 1 - 4, 2002, Vancouver, Canada
Resolution supporting the campaigns of indigenous women
Whereas, indigenous women from all over the world especially from the Third World countries are the first victim of imperialist globalization;

Whereas, development policies imposed by imperialist instruments such as the IMF-WB-WTO bring about diverse damage to the important role of indigenous women played in production, development, and control of resources in their ancestral territories;

Whereas, the use of militarism and other instruments of aggression used by imperialist and its local puppets degrades, displaces, and kills indigenous women and children. It also destroys culture and unity among the indigenous communities as they employ divisive tactics;

Whereas indigenous women coming from the basic sectors of society need to unite with the widest number of indigenous women from all over the world to forward their plight and grievances and end oppression and exploitation of indigenous women and children;

Resolve, as it is hereby resolved, in the conference "Towards our Liberation: an international women's conference against imperialist war and plunder" held in Vancouver, Canada, on November 1-4, 2002:

1. Support the campaign of indigenous people especially women in the defense of Land, Livelihood, and Resources.
2. Build strong solidarity among indigenous women from all over the world against imperialist globalization.
3. Call to stop the deployment of imperialist military and other forms of aggression as it kills, displaces, and degrades women and children.
4. Demand an immediate pull-out of US military forces from the Philippines and other parts of the world.
